I picked this up at the Patina sale in the parking lot. As per usual, all my budget was blown before it even got light out. Sigh. Still, I am pleased with it, I just did not expect to be acquiring a good post drill so soon. I wasn't ready for it. From what I can tell, its an Acme. It has a small repair on the pawl arm. It runs smooth as silk and it has ball bearings rather than babbitt bearings. It came with a single 1/2" shank bit, so I'm gonna have to find more bits or fashion a Jacobs chuck to fit.
The picture is a little dark, but you crank the handle on the right side and the big wheel on the left side is a fly wheel. That spins the bit. A pawl on the top slowly advances the drill downward.
